Best rental car in Houston

Easy and hassle free rental. Quick in and out .amazing staff .

The ease of booking a desired vehicle was a breeze, however the complete lack of inspection of vehicles before they are flipped for rental is unacceptable. We rented a vehicle from the luxury class group for 7 days. Shortly after leaving the rental hub (IAH Airport), the low tire pressure light lit up indicating the front driver's side tire was low on air. We stopped at the gas station later on that evening and added air and problem solved...so we thought. The next day, the light came on again so we called roadside assistance and were given two options; take the vehicle to the tire repair shop for repair and incur the costs, then seek reimbursement, OR have roadside come out to our location, put the spare on and return the vehicle to the hub for an exchange. Since we were on vacation and not familiar with the area, we opted to have the spare put on and exchange the vehicle. That process went smoothly until we went back for the exchange, they were expecting us and had a vehicle ready, but as soon as we turned the exchange vehicle on, the tire pressure light on car #2 immediately came on and ironically was low for the same tire! We went back inside and obtained the keys to car #3 and as soon as we opened the door, the stench of marijuana (mind you is not legal in the state we were in) was so strong, we couldn't stand it and don't understand how that was missed or not taken care of during inspection. Back inside to get the keys to car #4 and there was undeclared body damage on the outside, dirty, and missing tire caps...definitely not what we paid for, nor did we want to get charged for something we did not do. Back inside for the FIFTH time with keys to car #5 in which management walked out with us and made sure this rental was to par, in which it was. Ultimately, we were given an upgraded vehicle that had no issues, but the inconvenience and frustration of having to go back and forth all due to the vehicles not being inspected prior to re-renting them out was not how we wanted to spend an afternoon of our vacation. It was absolutely ridiculous and to add fuel to the fire, we were charged for the fuel usage for defective car #1. For this inconvenience, they should have just waived that. Sixt is new and maybe too new and we will most likely think twice before using them again.

 

After submitting a review in response to their emailed request for one, we received a call from Sixt less than an hour later questioning our less than 5 star review. He said that after we got the 5th car (which I guess was an even higher luxury class), that everyone was happy and didn't expect us to penalize them through a low rating. He was rude and abruptly ended the call...we gave an honest review of our experience at that location period, nothing more, nothing less. The ladies inside the hub were very apologetic and professional, so our rating does not reflect their service. However the JERK that was outside checking cars in and out and just called, well he has sealed the deal for us to never do business with Sixt again. It's not about the money, it's the principle and lack of empathy for the inconvenience and poor service.

I don’t usually do reviews but the service from Eric really warrants one. He really acknowledges the customers and is willing to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. He turned a almost bad experience into my best so far. From staying engaged with the customers and asking if we are okay during wait times, to even assisting with prepping vehicle so that it limits the overall wait time. As a long time Avis member I was hesitant to rent from this company but I’m happy I did. Next time you in Houston and need a rental ask for Eric, he will take care of you!
